ReflectionI learned about copyright laws and fair use policies in education. I learned about what and how I am permitted to use copyrighted materials in my classroom. I also learned what content is protected under copyright law. I compiled my materials into a Prezi presentation, which I had never used before. This is a great presentation tool that I can use to enhance lessons in my classroom and to share information with my colleagues.
I learned how to use Microsoft Word to create clear and concise representations and syntheses of material. This is a great tool to give students to make complicated material easier to understand and learn. It is also an excellent assignment to encourage students to use higher level thinking about class content. The chapter reflection pieces taught me how to make my own graphic organizers. By creating these types of graphic pieces, and adding text and images where appropriate, this technology integration can help students embed the material more effectively and efficiently both on paper and cognitively. |

ReflectionAn important skill that students need to know in our rigorous educational system is how to analyze data. I learned that the analysis of data is not enough to validate if students have learned a concept. In order for students to truly grasp an idea or concept, they must be able to synthesize a product based on their newfound knowledge. This is also a testament to the effectiveness of higher levels in Bloom's Taxonomy.
In order for students to be successful lifelong learners they must be able to search deeper into the content in which they are mastering. Subject samplers are a perfect tool in order to promote learning beyond the lesson. Students eventually find themselves gathering information on an important subject without realizing their action of active learning. When the learner finds the information meaningful, the information is assimilated into their long term memory for easy access. This is the definition of true leaning. |

ReflectionI learned how to create a videos using movie maker to include text, images, audio, and video in a unique and interesting way. This can be used for many different subjects and audiences because of the wide array of options it affords.
The collage offers a huge opportunity to provide differentiation for diverse students and it is also a way to incorporate the effective use of technology in class. |

ReflectionI learned how to write a lesson plan that meets TEKS objectives in both technology and another subject. In this lesson, students use technology in a way that adds to the learning in the primary subject while simultaneously meeting the TEKS objectives of technology and the other subject.
I learned how to create my own website using Weebly and include a variety of information and resources. This is an excellent way to communicate with students and parents by keeping them updated about class assignments, materials, and activities as well make useful resources available to them. |
